This 1911 built 5 storey hotel in located in downtown Victoira. As architect for the revitalization project from 2004 to 2007, AK Murphy attained a Victoria Civic Heritage Trust Grant for design work, as well as a successful Heritage Adaptation Permit, Heritage Tax Incentives Program Application granted for $1million dollars, and a Victoria Civic Heritage Trust Grant of $50K, and various building permits. Many development options were drawn to explore optimal renovations to the 30,000 sf building. Concrete cladding to ground floor columns by Szolyd restore the building's original terra cotta detailing at street level,and the reinstatement of full windows opens of views to the building interior from the sidewalk.
