Ann began her strong background in historic renovation with Simpson Roberts Architecture in Calgary in 1999 where she worked on the SAIT 2001 Heritage Hall Retrofit project and designed an upgrade to the men's locker room at Radium Hot Springs. While renovating her own 1919 farmhouse in Saanich, Ann was exposed to the realities of a low budget and a demanding client!
As architect for the Revitalization of the Hotel Douglas project for 3 years, AK Murphy Architect ltd. attained a Heritage Adaptation Permit, Heritage Tax Incentives Program Application, and a Victoria Civic Heritage Trust Grant.
